Once upon a time, a donkey was playing in a field of hay when a very hungry lion came along.
The lion didn’t usually eat donkeys, but his tummy was rumbling so much that he decided to attack. Just then, a rooster nearby went, “Cock-a-doodle-doo!”.
Now, the lion really hated the sound of roosters. It made his fur stand up and made him feel all yucky inside. The rooster’s crow was so loud and weird this time that the lion quickly covered his ears with his front paws and ran away on his back legs!.
When the donkey saw the big lion running away, he felt very brave and thought, “Wow, the lion is a scaredy-cat!”. Excitedly, the donkey started chasing after the lion.
But as soon as the rooster stopped crowing, the lion stopped running. He turned right around, gave the silly donkey one big smack, and ate him up for lunch.
The Moral of the Story: It is good to be brave, but it is not good to be silly and put yourself in danger!
